Karson Michael Brock arrived on February 1st at 8:06 am. He weighed 10 lbs 10 oz and was 22.5 inches long. He has the tiniest bit of dark brown hair. He is the cutest baby ever...obviously!! Reilly and Karson came through the C-section without any issues. He was healthy, well, and able to room with his mama the whole time.
Reilly and Hunter named him Karson with a K as a nod to Kameron with a K. My brother, Kirk, also has a son named Kaiden with K. It's a family thing now! I love it! His middle name Michael is in honor of two wonderful people who have since passed away. The first is Hunter's cousin Michael who passed away as a teenager. He and Hunter were very close. The name Michael is also special to our family because of our much loved and dearly missed Uncle Mike who is my Mom's brother.
Reilly prepped and ready for her C-section. This mommy was so excited to meet her baby!
So was this dad but I think that he was nervous enough for both of them.
These two OG parents and soon-to-be grandparents were going crazy waiting! We were nervous enough for 50 people!! We are not good at waiting and it took SO LONG to find out that all had gone well. We are so happy and grateful that it did! Mom and Baby came through everything just fine.
Mommy and Daddy meeting their son! What a moment! There is nothing like it.
Hunter cutting the cord.
What an incredible day for our family!! Tyler and I are OVER THE MOON to be grandparents. You can refer to us as Lovey and Pops from now on! Uncle Kam, Aunt Ailey, and Aunt Bryn are so excited about their new nephew! Kam and Ailey HATED being so far away! Lucky Aunt Brynnie to live so close!
My new sweatshirt that I wear with great pride!!
Waiting to meet our grandson...
COVID restrictions were still in place at the hospital. Only one person could be in the room besides the mother and father. AGONY!! Also no one under 18 can enter the hospital unless they are a patient. We had to fudge Bryn's age. Good thing she is tall. She got to be the first one to go in and see Karson just in case she got kicked out.
Reilly previously told Tyler that he could be the first one to hold Karson as a birthday gift. (Karson was born two days before Tyler's birthday.) But Bryn got in there first. LOL. Pops was visitor number two.
Lovey was LAST!! It was agony I tell you!! But poor Colleen (Karson's other grandma) couldn't come until later that day along with Karson's other grandpa (Don) so she was texting me throughout the day for all the details. She wanted to hear and know everything about our grandson! I told her that he was absolute PERFECTION!
Oh those baby snuggles! Heaven on Earth!!
I mean seriously...those cheeks!!
The cutest walking horse balloon gifted by Uncle Kam and Aunt Ailey!
Reilly checked into the hospital on a Wednesday at 5am and checked out around noon on Friday. Tyler took a couple of days off of work and we came to the hospital every single day and it was wonderful! We would visit during the day and Hunter's parents would visit at night. It actually worked out pretty well. Tyler, Bryn, and I were there to help the new family check out of the hospital and to help them get settled at their apartment.
Getting ready to go home:
Karson dressed in his little going home outfit. This was the first thing that we bought for Karson when we knew that he was on the way.
Cute Aunt Brynnie!
Karson is home! Everyone felt so good being home and out of the hospital.
Karson was so cute looking around!
Karson Michael Brock you are a joy to our family! You could not be more loved!! We are so blessed to be your grandparents!!
