I had a great Mother's Day!! It was extra special because it was also Reilly's first Mother's Day and it was my first Mother's Day as a grandma. I woke up to decorations and surprises! I got a beautiful hanging basket from the kids. It is gorgeous! I also got a beautiful bouquet of tulips from the kids too and I was really excited about this a giant pack of scented markers that I got! I'm really a nerdy 5th grader when it comes to my office supplies. I also use the scented crayons to mark my scriptures. :)
I love these and use them all the time to fill in our family wall calendar. I was down to my last grape scented marker and they ordered me this giant pack with all kinds of crazy new scents like buttered popcorn and nachos. I was so excited! Lol. I also got chocolates, a new rosebush for the yard, new gardening tools, and my favorite petit fours, and the sweetest cards.
They (and their dad) did such a great job of making me feel loved!!
Reilly had a great Mother's Day too! They did a picnic and Hunter and Karson did a good job of celebrating her too. They stopped by the day before to wish me a Happy Mother's Day and to bring me some very sweet and thoughtful gifts. They made me a chat book full of pictures of Karson. Reilly had also ordered me the coolest thing. A deconstructed book stack. I love it! Even the books were especially picked. They are all Jane Austen books. Isn't it cute!
It's neutral and matches my décor. It looks so cute on my shelf!
It's the perfect gift for a book lover and a grandma!
We were able to give Reilly her Mother's Day card and gift from us. Her siblings got her a gift from them too. So darn sweet! It's so nice when your kids are thoughtful especially to each other.
Our church starts at 11:30 now so I actually got to open my gifts pre-church. Yay! The YSA ward starts at noon so that worked out great. Tyler, Bryn, and I attended our ward and Kam and Ailey went to their ward. It was a double Lindt Truffle Ball Mother's Day at church. Sigh. All the women, even those serving in Primary and YW, were able to attend Relief Society. We got a cup of popcorn and a cup of fruit (no utensils). I declined. We had a special lesson. I am just not into Relief Society and spent the entire time wishing that I had given myself the Mother's Day gift of skipping RS and going home early. I will do that next year!
We all got home around the same time and took some pictures. How did these kids get so big?! They are a cute bunch! I should've had Ailey photoshop in Reilly's head. Ha ha. They all posted on social media too. I cried. I am a big words of affirmation person.

Then we headed downtown to see a movie. I wanted to see "Are You There God? It's Me Margaret".
Am I a child of the 80s or what? I loved this book in elementary school. It was cute. Tyler and Kam didn't hate it. LOL. There were some really douchey husbands in the theater. Good grief. How many stupid action movies have those wives had to sit through for them. I appreciated that my guys weren't like that!
After the movie we went to Twigs for appetizers and desserts. My favorite kind of meal!
It was a perfect Mother's Day! We talked to Reilly and also to my mother-in-law Judie. I had so many nice phone calls and texts too. No crying and feeling unappreciated this year! LOL.
A few days before Mother's Day, Tyler and I went out to the lake and kayaked over to my mom's cove. I floated flowers for her for Mother's Day. My sister Kelley is always posting pictures of orbs on social media and saying that my mom is always near her (or so I hear) ... slight eye roll... I guess not even Kelley could refute this:
Happy Mother's Day Mom! Ha ha! I guess Kelley doesn't get all the Mom fun.
On a very cool note... the night of Mother's Day I had a very real and lucid dream of my mom. I've only had one that seemed this real once before. I mean I dream of her all the time but she is always kind of shadowy or in the background. In this dream she was right there and just like herself. I knew that she was dead and she knew that she was dead. I hugged her and felt her. So I hugged her some more! So basically I got to hug my Mom on Mother's Day night!! She was happy and I was happy and I woke up happy. That was a gift! Also in the dream I asked her... "Do you have a message from God for me?" I love that dream Kristin was so ballsy. She said that yes she did.
My message was...
"People need to come together and enjoy the music."
M-kay... LOL. Whatever that means! So mysterious. My own personal "Rosebud" ala Citizen Kane.
The ever enigmatic Victoria McClellan even in dream form!
