The festivities started on the Sunday before the 4th of July. We were even color-coordinated for church. I love it when that occurs! Ailey and Kam attended their ward and did not color-coordinate. LOL.
On the actual 4th of July the kids requested cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk for breakfast. Both Kam and Ailey had to work in the morning so we decided to forgo the parade. We packed up a delicious picnic and once Ailey got home we headed to Lake Coeur d' Alene which is truly one of the most festive cities on the 4th of July!
We had so much fun!! We roamed all over enjoying the water, people, music, and all of the festivities.
Tyler retired to the shade after awhile and enjoyed a long nap while the girls and I enjoyed shopping downtown.
We found Bryn the cutest dress for our cruise at this darling little boutique! I also found the best candle that smells like summer and some perfume.
Coeur d' Alene is truly the cutest!!
The girls wanted to go to our favorite little French bakery for macarons and treats. The three of us liked to come here with my mom. In fact, it was one of the last places that we went with her. I am so glad that it holds only good memories and not sad ones. My mom would be happy about that!
We enjoyed the sunshine and the water!
An aptly named boat for the 4th of July!!
Kam got off work and met us and the fun began. FYI-- that isn't beer; it's canned water. LOL.
We ate our picnic dinner and enjoyed our beautiful surroundings!! From where we were sitting we could see the water and also had a perfect view of the fireworks.
Reilly and Hunter both had to work all day on the 4th of July and were exhausted. They decided to stay in Spokane and watch the downtown fireworks from their apartment. Unfortunately they fell asleep and missed them.
But this little cutie still got to wear his 4th of July outfit!! Wowza!!
While waiting for the fireworks to begin we played card games and the kids... well... enjoyed hanging out together! Ha ha!
As it got darker we headed back to our children. Fireworks are legal in Idaho so people had sparklers going and some other fireworks. I had glow things which the kids still enjoy!
Then the fireworks began and CDA does such an amazing job!! The best I've seen since Provo...maybe even better!
We had a fantastic holiday and are already making our 4th of July plans for next year!!
