April was an EXCITING month!! Kameron and Erin announced that they are expecting a baby in October! We have known this for awhile but were keeping it quiet until they were ready to announce it. Erin hasn't had the easiest pregnancy and had a bad scare too. Thankfully both mommy and baby are doing fine. We are SO EXCITED! All of these grandbabies are making life more exciting than we ever thought possible. I love being a mom...but being a grandma is next level! Erin is due October 24th!
We are also so excited that it is a GIRL! Another little sweetheart to spoil!
April started out with Holy Week, General Conference, and Easter. I love Holy Week and the build up to Easter. Our church doesn't do much but other denominations in our town do a lot. Last year we went to the Easter Vigil at St. John's Cathedral which was really interesting. This year, on Good Friday, we decided to go to Journey to the Cross that was put on by the Seventh Day Adventist church in Spokane Valley. The Seventh Day Adventist church that is near us does a Journey to Bethlehem every year. We have gone to that several times. A lot of people in the community participate and volunteer including many of members of the church. It is pretty amazing! The missionaries told us that it was the same thing with Journey to the Cross in the Valley. All the LDS missionaries were pitching in and helping set-up and around a hundred members of the LDS church were helping with it too. It was another big production and well worth attending. The crucifixion part will stay with me forever. Whoa.

The next day was General Conference. The Saturday morning session was a Solemn Assembly. President Dallin H. Oakes was sustained as the President of the Church as was the new First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles with the new apostles added.
I felt the Spirit as we stood up in our appointed groups...even in our homes...to sustain them. It was pretty powerful.
For the Saturday Afternoon Session we had the missionaries join us. They asked if they could come over and watch a session of conference with us and we said sure! One of the previous missionaries had gotten transferred so we met a new one when they came over. Our favorite one is still here. I love a funny and self-deprecating missionary! That's the one on the right.
They actually were a lot of fun and we enjoyed having them over. We get to work with the missionaries a lot in our calling and it has been quite enjoyable getting to know them. We will be really sad when our favorite elder gets transferred. He's a great guy!
The next day was Easter. I am glad that I can still play Easter Bunny to one little Johnson. Ha ha!
I am glad that she still wants an Easter dress every year too!
The Easter Bunny came to all the little Johnson grandkids! I love that our baby bunny ears tradition is still going strong with the next generation!
Not only was it Easter but it was also General Conference. Reilly and the twins came over while we were watching and spent the day with us.
Hunter and Karson came over later. We had an Easter dinner/General Conference food lunch/dinner situation going on. LOL.

Erin's parents and siblings were in town so Kameron and Erin got to visit with them and watch Conference with them both days. Then they spilt Easter up a bit...Kam, Erin, Ailey, Luke, and Tate all went to Kirk and Meki's for a bit and then Kam and Erin spent the rest of Easter with Erin's family. It sounded like they all had a good Easter weekend and so did we.

Right after Easter it was Spring Break and Bryn's 17th Birthday. Since we had just gotten back from Utah we didn't go anywhere for Spring Break. Bryn had to work and was busy hanging out with her new man but we still managed to celebrate her!!

This was a shopping spree at the mall. It is what she wanted for her birthday. We had a great day of shopping and eating. (Tyler showed up for lunch too!) We found her some really cute things for spring!

On a less celebratory note... I got summoned for Jury Duty. This is the FOURTH time in less than 15 years. Come on...there has to be a few other people in Spokane to summon. Tyler has only been summoned once in the 24 years that we've lived in Spokane. Thankfully I didn't have to actually go in this time but I had to call in every night at 5:30 pm to see if I had to go in the next day for two weeks. That made planning and scheduling things absolutely impossible. I was thrilled when my time of service was done!
Next up was Prom!
Bryn went to Prom with her friend JJ. (This isn't the guy she has been hanging out with.) She went with a huge group of friends and had a fun time!! She looked gorgeous!
Midtown Market had their Spring Open House this month. That kept me busy working on projects and getting things ready for the show. They had a bunch of food trucks, fresh flower trucks, and live music again. It was a nice event and I'm glad it turned out well!
We've seen a lot of Reilly and the kids. They've come over quite a few times. Karson loves to play in the yard and the twins love to be outside. Reilly is struggling with some post partum depression. I got it pretty bad twice and it is awful. I can't imagine the hormone plummet after having twins. Major sleep deprivation and worrying about Karson's issues hasn't helped. She is a warrior woman.
I'm still babysitting the twins on Thursday mornings while Karson goes to his speech and OT therapy. It is the best day of the week!

The twins turned 7 months old and can say "mama" and "dada". They laugh and jabber all the time. They have so much to say! Kynlee has a little laugh that sounds like Thumbelina. Karson has a hearty giggle when you get him going. They are so much fun! I love this age.
Ailey and Luke celebrated their first wedding anniversary. They went and walked around the Payson Temple with little Tatertot! Who could've imagined that by the time they would celebrate their first anniversary they would have the cutest little buddy with them! Tate is one month old now!
Tate seems pretty happy about it too!
My mother-in-law wants a big family gathering for her 82nd birthday so she has decided to come to Coeur d' Alene at the end of June along with my sister-in-law Lori. She has even gifted plane tickets to the Utah kids. Everyone is coming...except for Luke who can't take the time off of work right now. It will be fun to have everyone home for several days. It will be Ailey's birthday too so we can celebrate her as well.
Erin and Kameron are doing good. Erin is starting to get over the morning sickness. It's rough. I remember those days. They texted a new ultrasound picture of their little girl. They got their results back from their genetics test and everything looks good! The baby is growing well and both she and Erin are healthy. I'm so glad! Erin asked me if I would like to be in the delivery room with she and Kameron and Erin's mom. I couldn't believe it! I literally burst out in tears. It would be an honor.
Bryn got into a little fender bender this month too driving with one of her friends. Thankfully no one was hurt and the car only had minimal damage. She was pretty shaken up as were we. Hopefully it will keep her driving a bit more cautiously now. I do not enjoy kids driving. It is so stressful. Especially that first year. She also applied to work at a gymnastics place helping preschoolers do gymnastics. She would be able to do that job and lifeguard this summer. She has hated working as a waitress at an assisted living center. She likes the older people but the management is basically nonexistent with only the cook making the schedule and he is awful to the kids working there. Tyler and I have made her stick it out but if she can find another job that will work with lifeguarding this summer I guess we will let her quit.
Ailey and Luke got callings in their new ward. They teach Sunday School to the 13-15 year olds. LOL. Tate is smiling a lot and can raise one eyebrow. Any kid that can side eye like this at one month old is going to be a character!
Tyler and I have been busy doing all of the summer yard prep. I've been digging out and fertilizing all the flower beds. We picked up the boat out of winter storage. I can't wait to get out on the water this year. We've gone to the lake twice this month when the weather cooperated but haven't put the boat in yet. We've kept up with our goals of going to the temple, trying a new restaurant (not good), and exercising regularly. I've tried to squeeze in time to socialize this month when possible. We have been watching the TV show Rooster and absolutely love it! Highly recommend. The sound track is fantastic too!
We are about to head out to town for a wedding in Oregon. That will be a fun little getaway for us. It will be right before our 31st wedding anniversary. Tyler and I are excited to get out of town for a bit.
