Ailey's Super Duper 7th Birthday Weekend

(Elle, Kameron, Bryn, Ailey, Dane and River)

Ailey turned seven on Saturday and it was HIGH EXCITEMENT!! For her birthday celebration she wanted a weekend at Grandma's house with cousins. She got her wish for a wild, crazy, fun-filled weekend!!

Friday night we headed up to Sandpoint to my mom's house and met Kelley,Elle, Stacey and her kids. Grandma Vic and Grandpa Ken had a big bonfire all ready for us...hot dogs, tofu dogs, s'mores...you name it and we ate it.

Bryn and Ailey

Grandpa Ken was giving tractor rides...and letting the kids drive...FUN!!

Kam driving and River and Elle patiently waiting for their turn.

Hanging out: Ailey, Kelley, Tyler, Reilly and Stacey

Kameron, Mom, Bryn, Kelley and Stacey

Relaxing

Bryn and Elle eating chocolate...s'mores took too long and were too messy!!

Aunt Kelley

Enjoying the bonfire. The kids went to bed and the adults sat out until almost 1am. I Love it!!

The next day was Ailey's birthday extravaganza. Her main request was a "Pink Party" so we did that with a summer-time theme. She wanted a pizza party and games...so we rocked it "old school style" and did just that.

We played:

Donut Dangle!! It never fails to amuse.

Reilly will stop at nothing to try to beat small children...even eating it off the ground!! Ha ha.

The birthday girl won with quite a mouthful!!

Twister

Dane was the undisputed champ!! Those long legs of his make him GREAT at Twister.

Stick the lips on Justin Bieber...because boys were attending they did not actually get to smooch lipstick on the ol' biebs. I know Reilly was disappointed!!

Even Dane was a good sport and played along...unlike Kameron...who flatly refused.

Aunt Kelley couldn't be left out either...do I hear the "Ice Castles" theme song?

(Please don't let this feeling end...it's everything I am....la la la... looking through the eyes of love...la la la...since I found you...looking through the eyes of love)

We also played several rather emotional and violent musical chair games which had everyone in a bad mood and crying. Someone did suggest an adult round of musical chairs but that could've led to a trip to the hospital with this competitive bunch.

Then it was pizza time:

Ailey requested pizza, frappe punch (raspberry sherbet with 7-up), fruit, veggies with ranch, and "Dirt and worms" for her cake. Let the record show: no child ate fruit or veggies.

Ailey with her dirt and worms...Delish!!

Then it was time for presents:

Playing Spin the Bottle or aka the Vintage Thermos to see whose present she would open.

One of the presents that she requested was matching dresses for she and Bryn...wish granted!!

Thank you hugs!! Such a cute picture of Ailey and Aunt Stacey.

Ailey had fun and scored some great gifts. She has been playing away with everything today while being very stylishly dressed!! :) Thank you all.

Later that night we had some friends come over for a little adult socializing. Our friend, Jennifer Wood, one half of the Funky Junk girls and her husband Nathan and their baby Glenn came over for drinks and appetizers. We had a great time visiting with them.

Sisters Creed with Funky Junk Jennifer!!

(For the record...I have no idea why I looks so busty and like I am wearing super short shorts...I have neither...but I will take it!! :)

We spent the rest of our weekend together relaxing, doing some shopping, cooking, talking, chasing kids and some of this:

Reading lots of books!! Like mothers like daughters!!

Stacey and I, unknowingly, brought up the exact same book to read. Great minds think alike!! (It was Freedom by Jonathon Franzen in case you were wondering.)

Bryn and Elle loved reading with Grandpa Ken. He will read forever...and he NEVER skips pages!! (Unlike Mommy...and Daddy)

We came home exhausted, stuffed full of great food, and brimming with fun memories. Thanks Mom and Ken!!

This cute 7 year-old had one heck of a great birthday!!

Happy Birthday A !! We love you!!
