Ailey's Super Duper 7th Birthday Weekend
Ailey turned seven on Saturday and it was HIGH EXCITEMENT!! For her birthday celebration she wanted a weekend at Grandma's house with cousins. She got her wish for a wild, crazy, fun-filled weekend!!
Friday night we headed up to Sandpoint to my mom's house and met Kelley,Elle, Stacey and her kids. Grandma Vic and Grandpa Ken had a big bonfire all ready for us...hot dogs, tofu dogs, s'mores...you name it and we ate it.
The next day was Ailey's birthday extravaganza. Her main request was a "Pink Party" so we did that with a summer-time theme. She wanted a pizza party and games...so we rocked it "old school style" and did just that.
We played:
(Please don't let this feeling end...it's everything I am....la la la... looking through the eyes of love...la la la...since I found you...looking through the eyes of love)
We also played several rather emotional and violent musical chair games which had everyone in a bad mood and crying. Someone did suggest an adult round of musical chairs but that could've led to a trip to the hospital with this competitive bunch.
Then it was pizza time:
Then it was time for presents:

One of the presents that she requested was matching dresses for she and Bryn...wish granted!!Ailey had fun and scored some great gifts. She has been playing away with everything today while being very stylishly dressed!! :) Thank you all.
Later that night we had some friends come over for a little adult socializing. Our friend, Jennifer Wood, one half of the Funky Junk girls and her husband Nathan and their baby Glenn came over for drinks and appetizers. We had a great time visiting with them.
(For the record...I have no idea why I looks so busty and like I am wearing super short shorts...I have neither...but I will take it!! :)
We spent the rest of our weekend together relaxing, doing some shopping, cooking, talking, chasing kids and some of this:
Stacey and I, unknowingly, brought up the exact same book to read. Great minds think alike!! (It was Freedom by Jonathon Franzen in case you were wondering.)
We came home exhausted, stuffed full of great food, and brimming with fun memories. Thanks Mom and Ken!!
Happy Birthday A !! We love you!!
