Jordin came to visit...and fun ensued. Jordin's husband, Ramon, had a basketball reunion this last weekend so she decided to fly out here to visit family while Ramon was out of town. They had family in Kansas City watch their two cute kids so she was able to come out here footloose and fancy free. We were all super excited to see her since it had been awhile. She and her family ended up not being able to come out this summer for our family reunion. They are coming instead at Christmas, so this trip ended up being a fun surprise for all of us.
She arrived just in time to catch one of Kameron's cross-country meets. He was pretty excited about that! Jordin has a fun, wild and crazy personality so life is never dull when she is around and we love that about her.
The McClellan Women...a force to be reckoned with for sure!!
Bryn, Reilly, Elle, Kameron, River and Ailey
Tyler was there too. Lugging all the pumpkins. :)
Tyler and a big ol' Bag of D's...as in flamin' hot pumpkin donuts!! Delish.
The man stood in line for an hour for those babies!!
Our yearly tradition/obsession
We did a lot of hanging out and eating out!! Chillaxing at Kelley's.
River, Elle and Bryn eating ice cream cones after a big BBQ lunch.
We went out for a fancy dinner at Luna's one night...so fun!!
My hipster pose
We had a family dinner at our house one night too. Stacey and River had gone home by then (John and Dane were deer hunting) and it was nice to have a relaxing family Sunday dinner.
Jordi flew back home to Kansas City today and we are all bummed. But...we are super excited for Christmas when Jordin, Ramon, Jaylah, and RJ will all be here. We have big plans for the holidays this year!! It should be really fun!!
(Can you believe that Christmas is in about 2 months? Yeah... it is.)
**In case you were wondering how my Fitness Challenge was going with my group of friends...Week #1 despite Jordin being here, eating out a bunch, late nights, energy drinks, and consuming bags of D's... I lost 1.2 lbs and 4 inches which is a fracking miracle.**
On other autumnal notes...
-I have darkened my hair, as I do every year in the fall, to give it a little break from blond highlights which I return to every spring.
-I am reading Dracula by Bram Stoker as my spooky book for October (and it turned out being our book club book for this month. Two birds...one stone.)
-I am listening to double the amount of classical music I normally do since autumn really calls for classical music. Much more so than other seasons...in my opinion. I love classical music.
-I am going to bake a pumpkin pie in the next day or so. Sounds good huh? I'm just going to do it for the heck of it too.
-I am anxiously awaiting Trader Joe's Dark Gingerbread Mix to return so my joy can be full.
-I tried to be positive this morning when I actually saw "frost on the pumpkin". Boo.
