Every year one of my favorite author/blogger/influencers, Laura Tremaine, challenges her followers to participate in a one-day hour-by-hour challenge. You document what you are doing every hour on a particular day from when you wake up to when you go to bed. The date chosen this year was Friday, November 15th. As I say every year...Prepare to be riveted. LOL.
November 15, 2024 (Friday)
My day started early at 5:49 am. Bryn had early morning seminary. Tyler takes her on his way to work and then I pick her up and drive her to school. We will ALL be so glad when she can drive next year!

Shortly after I woke up my phone started alarming with notifications that Ailey's blood sugar was low. I get notifications sent to my phone when either Tyler or Ailey have low blood sugar. Technology is amazing. I think about how far we have come. I don't know how Tyler's parents sent him on a mission and let him go off to college never knowing what his blood sugar was (or Tyler either for that matter.) Terrifying. Ailey eventually got herself some juice or something because my notifications stopped. Sometimes she doesn't wake up or want to get up and I have to call her and harass her until she does. Usually Tyler is doing the same thing. Kameron was getting her alarms sent to his phone too when he lived in Rexburg. It is a bit worrisome not having Kameron in town to go check on her if she doesn't respond to our calls and texts. Thankfully she always has! Can we just cure diabetes please????
6:50 am:

After all the hubub with Ailey this morning. I hit snooze and went back to bed.
7:50 am:
I picked up Bryn and her friend Leah and drove them to school. It was foggy this morning.
8:50 am:
This is the time that I plan out my day, journal, and read my scriptures.
9:50 am:
Today I was working on the guest room aka Bryn's old room. It got a fresh coat of paint and I also repainted all of the bedroom furniture. (Bryn got new bedroom furniture for her new smaller room.)
10:50 am:
While the paint was drying in the guest room I continued to work on decorating for Christmas. I love these little Gurley Holiday Candles...snowmen, angels, trees, deer etc. I collect them. They are in several different locations in our house in little vignettes. Some of these are mine and some were my Grandma's. She had a collection for every holiday. I do too!
11:50 am:
I'm back in the guest room applying another coat of paint. I said this would be a riveting day...as riveting as watching paint dry...LITERALLY.
12:50 pm:
Outside with Beverly. I am LOVING that we still have some green grass and fairly decent weather in NOVEMBER! Beverly is loving it too.
1:50 pm:
Working on my Sisters Creed Inventory and pricing.
2:50 pm:
Bryn's home from school!
3:50 pm:
The sun is starting to go down. We call it lamp-o-clock. We turn on lamps the minute the sun begins to go down. We need light! I love the glow from my candle lights. It's making things more cheery and less dreary. I'm still decorating for Christmas.
4:50 pm:
Tyler stopped at Huckleberry's on his way home from work and brought home a sweet treat for me and Bryn. We love the cake and desserts from there. They have the best layer cakes.
5:45 pm:
Out on a long walk with Tyler. We walk three miles almost every day. This is where we discuss the day and all that is going on in our lives. It's a great way to decompress and to deal with the above sweet treats! I'll say again how HAPPY I am that we don't have any snow!!
6:50 pm:
On a Walmart run to get a flocked pre-lit Christmas tree for the guest room.
7:50 pm:
We also went to Lowe's for more painting supplies.
8:50 pm:
Tyler putting together and lighting the little white tree in the kitchen. This is the reason that we had to go buy a pre-lit tree for the guest room. He HATES lighting Christmas trees and so does everyone that lives in my house BUT I like thickly and brightly lit trees. Here he is annoyed but doing what I request. He also hates this vintage tree that has yellowed to the perfect antique off white and sheds like crazy. But I love it and he loves me. He has passed this job off to all of our children over the years, who equally loathe lighting and putting up this tree, but now he is down to one child and she has a social life. Ha ha.
9:50 pm:
The Christmas decorating is getting done! Friday nights are usually our date nights but we had a bunch of projects that needed to get done this week.
10:50 pm:
We end as we began!
Not a thrilling Friday night to be sure but we did get a lot accomplished so there you have it. One day in November 2024... hour by hour!
