October: Things I Am Loving

October: Things I Am Loving

1.) Miracles

Obviously.

This was a picture from Tyler's hospital room that we texted to our oldest and dearest friends, Naomi and Kevin, who were ready to head to Spokane to let them know that despite all that was going on Tyler was doing okay. Let me just add that we are so blessed in the friend department. All of our very best friends in multiple states...CA, UT, and NV... were all on standby and were ready to go and willing to drop everything to come to us. Not to mention our best friends locally who did drop everything and were there for us. We are so blessed...in so many ways.

2.) Relative Finder

Through all of the hell that we went through, we amused ourselves with finding out what famous people we were related to! Fascinating. I hope Tyler appreciates the royal bloodline he has married into! But I was more excited to find out that he is cousins with Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash! He is also related to nearly every US President. Including Barack Obama. Say what?! Have you done it yet?  It's free. Check it out at: relativefinder.org  It's always being updated so keep checking back. Also, if you aren't LDS you can still sign up for a family search account for free and will be able to access all kinds of historical documents, pictures, records, and info about your family and ancestors. Do it!! It's so fun.

3.) Book Club

I mentioned in a previous post that I am in a book club again and I couldn't be happier about it!! Yay!

4.) Passion Fruit Greek Yogurt

On the window ledge of Tyler's hospital room.
People, this is a serious addiction. I love passion fruit beyond any other flavor/fruit/taste sensation. I also love greek yogurt. We have a specialty grocery store here in Spokane called My Fresh Basket. They have a greek yogurt bar with all kinds of different purees and mix ins. It is served like gelato with multiple flavors that you can try. Whoa. This is usually the place we stop at for *dessert* on our date nights. It is so delicious. We like multiple flavors but our very favorite is the passion fruit. While Tyler was in the hospital Reilly and Kameron brought us passion fruit yogurt every day. Those kids are gold. I was so stressed that I could barely eat anything for weeks but I could usually eat some of this yogurt and Tyler happily snarfed down his and whatever was leftover of mine. :)

5.) Our Ward

I don't often give our ward family enough credit. They are amazing. They are like family...sometimes enjoyable, sometimes annoying, but always there when you need them. Boy, did they come through for us. I am humbled beyond anything at the love and service that they gave to us and continue to give to us. How do people survive without a ward or church congregation of loving friends who show up for you, serve you, feed you, take care of your kids, cry with you, pray for you, fast for you, encourage you, and uplift you? (Not to mention make you laugh super hard in the ICU no less. Ray, I am talking to you!) I know that we could not. They are our family in every sense of the word. I love them dearly.
