I turned 46! Always a cause for celebration!! I love my birthday and this year was no different. I was happy that for once my birthday didn't fall during the Farm Chicks show. That always makes things crazy and my birthday sometimes gets skipped by my extended family. This year it was a few days after and that was really nice. No, we did not have a repeat of Mother's Day morning. Ha ha!! My family was on top of all of the celebrating!! Starting early in the morning, Tyler and the kids had all kinds of surprises waiting for me when I woke up. It was fantastic! I had a great day doing all of the things that I love to do and didn't have to do anything that I didn't want to do!! Sweet. I was well remembered by friends and family too which was extra nice.
I met my friend Rebecca for a Starbucks birthday "brunch" as we call it! Since we are usually there for breakfast and way past lunch. Ha ha! She is the sweetest. She had gifts and flowers. It was a lot of fun! She is super into "mindfulness" and "personal development" and goal setting and things like that so she is always fun and interesting to talk to!! She gave me a great pep talk for my 46th year!!
I love that she specifically bought me birthday flowers that matched my house and home decor! No clashing here! That girl gets me!
Bryn made me this darling card at school. I was laughing so hard when I opened it up and read it:
She told her class that it was my birthday. (I was even wished a happy birthday by her teacher.) Not only did she make me this darling card; she also had several of her classmates sign it. It was the sweetest thing ever! It totally pays to volunteer at school... you get extra birthday wishes. So cute!!
My birthday gift from Reilly was waiting for me when I got home:
It's official! We are a 100% hammocking family now! Thanks Reilly! She has outfitted us all. You will find us swaying from trees all around the Pacific Northwest!!
After work Tyler took me out on a "school night date" for my birthday. It felt so decadent! :) We went out for Mexican food. A miracle has occurred people!! We have FINALLY found not one...but...TWO... really good Mexican restaurants!! It's only taken 16 years! But it has finally happened. Spokane is not known for it's Mexican food. One restaurant is in town and one is in the little town next to the lake. Tyler also surprised me with my favorite caramel cake from my favorite bakery Sweet Frostings.
After dinner we grabbed the kids and went for a fun family hike/walk. Part of it is on a trail and part of it isn't. I love this trail because the view is stunning. The weather is getting so nice and I love being outside!! On my birthday, the weather was absolutely perfect and it was so gorgeous as the sun was setting!
We had such a great night hiking as a family (Reilly was working) and enjoying the view of this beautiful area that we live in!
Then it was back home for caramel birthday cake!!
That weekend I celebrated my birthday with extended family. We met up at one of my very favorite places...the Coeur d' Alene Resort for my fancy birthday brunch. It was a lot of fun!! My family loves a fancy brunch like no other!
I got my favorite strawberry gooey! This pic is seriously my life! Ha ha!!
Look what the Coeur d' Alene Resort was selling! Nice!!
I had an awesome birthday and enjoyed celebrating every.single.minute!!
