Good Times and Tan Lines
Goooooood mornin Vietnammmm.....I mean....Gooood mornin friends and family of your favorite missionary💯 I'm back at it again with another absolute banger of an email! I hope all is well with ya'll.
First things first, shout out to my big sis Reilly! Happy freakin birthday!! 24?? Sheeeeeeesh we're getting old😬😂 I hope your day and week is an absolute blast and I'm sad I can't be there but you already know I'll be there for your 26th❤ love ya Rei!
These last couple weeks have been amazing actually! Full of many little miracles! The first one is the weather! It's been in the 70s all week! The tan lines were almost coming in haha! And the other is our area has been popping off which has been such a blessing so we stay busy!! We went from averaging 4-6 lessons for 1 companionship a week to each companionship averaging 10-12 lessons a week! (We recently got a second companionship of elders in our ward) It's been awesome! We enjoy being busy haha💯 And on top of all that we've met with a least 4-5 possible new people which is huge from having basically none my whole time here. God is real ya'll. He is aware of us and our needs and He truly answers prayers.
This mission is definitely not what I thought it would be. It's tough. You want to quit. You hate it. You want to go home. Go back to where it's easy and comfortable. But amongst all that, you are having the experience of a lifetime. You love every second of every day. The ups and the downs. It's all worth it for that one lesson where the spirit is so strong. Where you're not really sure what you're saying but you know it feels right. That it isn't really you talking. That you are just a mouth piece to the truthfulness of the gospel. That is why I do it. Why many missionaries do it. Why we put on our name tags, wear shirts, and ties and sacrifice every bit of comfort we've ever known. To bring people to the fullness of truth. To guide them to the never ending warmth and light that is our Savior Jesus Christ. It's the weirdest mix of emotions lemme tell ya but I wouldn't trade this experience for anything in the world.
I love ya'll. That's been my thoughts this last couple weeks going through the ups and downs. Wanting to throw in the towel and right before I break that one lesson comes along and reignites the fire within. In zone conference this last week our mission president said this, "The message of Hope has NEVER been brighter! God will provide." And that resonated with me. God will provide and I know that with all my heart. We live in crazy times ya'll. But the message we share is the same. God loves you, have faith, have hope, and He will provide.
John 16:33: "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
