Halloween 2021

We interrupt these sad posts to talk about Halloween...LOL.

Halloween was on a Sunday this year which is always a drag. Maybe not as big of a drag as if we lived in Utah. Those poor suckers have to celebrate on a different day. Halloween morning we went to church (Tyler conducted, Bryn gave a talk, and Ailey led the music, and we attended a convert baptism) We did our duties and then we celebrated Halloween for the rest of the day. Other families can do what they want but our family has been through so much and has missed out on so many things that I really don't think the Lord begrudges a little trick-or-treating. Things have been so tumultuous this month that we didn't even carve a pumpkin.

Ailey helped Bryn get all gussied up as a prison inmate! LOL! She looked good! Down to a fake black eye. Ha ha! Ailey didn't dress up this year. She was out with her friends the night before and did all of her Halloweening then.

Bryn the *method* actor especially when Ailey jumped on her back! LOL!

These two crack me up!

That night we blasted our Halloween playlist and I made butternut squash lasagna. Truly the best lasagna ever! Bryn headed out to trick-or-treat with her friends. Tyler helped round up girls and got them all to a central location and then dropped her off. It was Bryn's first time trick-or-treating without a parent. Milestones.

Ailey and I were home handing out candy. We had a bunch of trick-or-treaters this year. That was fun! I loved seeing all of the neighborhood kids in their costumes. Tyler came back and we watched Gremlins and ate Halloween candy. Gremlins is kind of a Halloween/Christmas combo movie. Ailey had never seen it before. LOL. Bring on Christmas I say!

Bryn had a terrific time with her friends! She rolled back in around 9 pm with a huge sack of candy. Oh the joys of being 12! (This joy did not extend to the next morning when everyone had to get up early for school.) We also got to talk to Kameron briefly since it was *technically* a holiday. So that was fun too. It turned out to be a pretty swell Halloween after all!
