Halloween 2023

Halloween just doesn't get any better than when there is a little one around. The timing was perfect that the year that our youngest child didn't go trick or treating; we had a grandchild who did. It's been fun doing all the old things like Greenbluff, carving pumpkins, trunk or treat, and trick or treating.

First up was Trunk or Treat:

We haven't attended trunk or treat at the church since Bryn was in elementary school. We weren't planning on attending it this year but Reilly wanted to bring Karson to it and we were more than happy to oblige. Trunk or Treat was on a Saturday night this year even though Halloween was on a Tuesday. This also happened to be the same night as Bryn's Homecoming dance. So right after Homecoming pictures we headed home to met up with Reilly, Hunter, and Karson to go over to the church. This year we were combining with three other wards for Trunk or Treat.

Reilly wanted to decorate our trunk and we were more than happy to let her! She did a great job and told us that she already has ideas for how we can go "all out" next time. LOL.

They were dressed up as a cute little cow family.

Trunk or Treat was a lot of fun! People were so excited to met Karson and he was a little sweetheart to everyone. He is so curious about people and about the world and so loving to everyone he meets. It is so cute to watch him interact with people.

After collecting candy we brought him inside to warm up and the primary kids were having a family dance. It was so cute! Karson was a fan!

We were the typical proud grandparents showing Karson off to everyone! Ha ha!!

A little blurry at the dance party but a good time was had by all!

Then on Tuesday it was Halloween:

Bryn had plans to go over to her homecoming date's house on Halloween for her second official date. I will stop here with counting her dates. Ha ha! So no trick-or-treating and no costume for her this year. She did humor me with the traditional pumpkin head photo.

Tyler and I had planned out what we were going to do for Halloween. We were staying home, ordering Thai food, watching a Halloween movie, and handing out candy. Reilly told us that they probably weren't going to take Karson out trick-or-treating since it was cold and he doesn't really get it anyway. But then our door bell rang and I went to hand out candy it it was our favorite little baby calf!

Actually when I opened the door I saw a man standing there aka Hunter and I screamed in terror at the unexpected grown man at the door. LOL. It was so fun to see them and have them hang out for a bit. Reilly helped us hand out Halloween candy. We had quite a few trick-or-treaters this year and basically went through a Costco bag of candy bag in addition to the two bags of Costco candy that we gave out at Trunk or Treat. Later they went over to Hunter's parents house (Grandma and Grandpa Donkey...love grandparent names! LOL) so that Karson could trick or treat there too.

Tyler and I enjoyed the rest of our night eating Thai food, watching movies and a few episodes of Goosebumps that we had been watching with Bryn but watched without her. We refused to eat Halloween candy so we got a few choice pieces of Mrs. Sees chocolates to enjoy and that was all we needed. We will do that again! I love our new Halloween traditions. We had such a cozy and fun Halloween night. It was cute to see our neighborhood kids in their costumes and our little grandbaby. Bryn had a great time at Ander's house. It was a great Halloween all around!

(As for the college kids... Kam worked and Ailey went to a haunted house on a group date. So nothing really to post from them.)
