Cucina Italiana
Last week I had a fun time at my friend Sharon's house. She was hosting an Italian Cooking Night Enrichment Activity. She has lived in Italy for years and was teaching us how to make some of her amazing dishes.
Audrey and KristinSharon is my visiting teaching partner, friend, and mentor. She is a wealth of information about life, parenting, books, food and the gospel. I just love talking to her.
For my family...she actually grew up in St. Anthony. Can you believe it? And she worked at Chiz's in high school. Crazy huh? She doesn't know Dennis. She is a little bit older than my mom.
Sharon taught us how to make homemade pasta, baked rigatoni, spaghetti alla carbonara, homemade pesto, a fantastic marinara sauce and truly the best tortellini I have ever had. The foody that I am...I knew how to make and do make all but the tortellini so I was excited to learn how to make those. She also stuffed us with fabulous food, cheese, and Italian sodas. It was a fun night!!
But also a little sad as my friend Audrey is moving to Florida. Sharon and I are her visiting teachers and she was Reilly's fantastic activity day leader. She taught those girls to make one of the Amy Butler bags. Reilly's is so cute I have had to "borrow" it a few times. ;)
Good luck in Florida Audrey!! We will miss you!!
Dinner Alert: Stir-fry with tempeh, broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy, mushrooms and peanuts.

Sharon is the woman. I've been to one of her Italian cooking classes before and OH MY! That was before I loved food as much as I do now so I would love to get my hands on any great recipes she handed out.
It seems you guys have had a BLAST this last week. I can't believe Tyler made that most yummy looking cake in the world. I also can't believe our girls are going to be 4!!! I need to make me one of those cute bags.....btw, are you still sewing?
