My Girl Likes To Party All The Time

Ailey's "official" birthday FINALLY arrived after what felt like forever to a soon-to-be 4 year old. She chose to celebrate her big day at the park downtown and she did it in style!! We have the most beautiful park down town with a river running through it and water falls...but the highlight is definitely the carousel. It is almost 100 years old and absolutely gorgeous. There are other rides, a skating rink, and IMAX but the highlight is always the carousel.

Look how beautiful this park is:

The falls are amazing this year due to all the snow we had...there is a ton of water!!

I have such fond memories of this park growing up. When we would come up to the lake for vacation one day was always reserved for coming into town and going to this park. I loved going here as a kid. It was so exciting and fun. We always used to go to a French bakery nearby and order filled croissants. I loved the chocolate and almond filled ones. It seemed so glamorous to munch on a croissant, ride the carousel, and hang out downtown. Plus... it had an IMAX...very rare in those days.

Ailey picks a beautiful white princess horse...of course.

Reilly rides a goat...enough said.

Kameron wanted the "war horse" outfitted in armor but it was a popular choice so he road this trusty steed.

One thing that is fun about this carousel is that after you've gone around a few times they let you try to grab for rings. If you get a "gold" ring you get a free ride. Also...you try to throw your rings into a big clown mouth that makes a loud buzz when you get it in his mouth. Good times.

Here's Reilly making an attempt:

Photo Blast from the Past:

Here I am at the exact same age as Reilly doing the very same thing. How cool is that?
Man I loved that powder jacket!! AND...I just noticed...I AM RIDING THE WARHORSE...AWESOME!!

After many many rides we decided to go to the the big slide:

It's sad that the French Bakery isn't there any longer but we did manage to stuff ourselves full of hot mini-donuts and nachos. We also hit our new favorite Greek restaurant that opened about a month ago. It is so good. We went there for my birthday too.

We stopped for some chocolates at a nearby chocolate shop. We tried a wasabi chocolate bar (my two loves) it was weird (surprise) and then we headed home for a Princess Party.

Dinner Alert: Tempeh Stir-fry

Have a Great Weekend!!

Happy Birthday Ailey!

All the baby pictures were priceless! What a cutie!!!

I love Riverfront Park too! It always reminds me of the parks in London, England.

Sean turns four tomorrow. His nickname is the Pickle Boy. Sounds like a lot of trouble will be going on if we let Sean and Ailey play together.

Looks like a great time. Emma loves to ride the goat too. What is it with these girls? The vintage photo of you on the carosuel was great.

That red wagon slide was so cool! My boys would love to take a ride on that!

What a fun day. I especially loved the tiaras--what a pretty little princess. You in the powder jacket brought back the memories. I always wanted one of those. . .

Can't wait to meet this little princess!
