Spring Break...Dave Ramsey would be proud

It is officially Spring Break and where is our family? HOME! That's right at home. We always go somewhere for Spring break but this year we are saving the cash and staying home. Despite our initial gloomy attitudes we have been having fun! We had a great weekend with some fairly good weather. If you're wondering if we spent time this weekend with my family you are RIGHT! I can't help it they are seriously fun.

Stacey drove up to the BIG CITY this weekend for a little shopping. We had a great time. We hit lots of stores and even got fitted for bras. That was quite an experience. I have apparently been buying the wrong bra size for years...my last bra fitting was at ZCMI and I was in 6th grade...I am happy to report that I am a now a 32C...unlike my previous fitting of 32 AA. I did get a little nervous as the lady was measuring me and saying..."It looks like your a 32..." and I was praying she wasn't going to say "A"!! We also had a Headband Palooza!! Apparently headbands are quite "in" right now. No one can say that Stac and I aren't hip...I bought two and Stacey decided to ease herself into the headband world with one but we tried on what felt like THOUSANDS! :) Do note my cute black and white striped headband in the above photo.

Stacey found lots of cute things and I tried to control my jealousy as my sad Dave Ramsey budget only had cash for two EXTREMELY CUTE headbands and dinner at the Olive Garden. The above photo is us actually posing...the one below is us after about 2 seconds of trying to be serious! Yeah it didn't last!! (FYI...I wish one of my dear sisters would've told me my garments were hanging out!)

I felt quite sorry for our poor waiter who had to keep attempting to take our picture. We could not stop laughing!! The picture of me is about one second before a serious snort!! Look at serene Stacey...if you only knew that she was telling us (through clenched...yet smiling teeth) to "SHUT-UP!!" and to try to be normal!! The night was full of too much food, lots of cackling, and I believe we all had to unbutton the top button on our jeans!! Good thing Kelley just joined my gym...we are going to have to work that feast off!

Oh-we also hit Kelley's favorite shopping haunt...the hospital gift shop!! She works at the hospital and buys pretty much all her gifts for others there. They do have some cute things!!

Tyler and I have also started a new weekend tradition. We get up very early and go for a LONG walk with Mrs. Beasley our homely little pug. Sadly we spent ALOT of time talking about how next weekend we need to walk somewhere for breakfast! Here is a picture of "The Bease".

General Conference was great! I loved the Saturday morning talk on not being negative and whiny...oops...I think that talk was for me. I have also eaten enough Rhodes Orange Sweet Rolls to turn into one. Those are SERIOUSLY good.

After being cooped up inside for Conference we decided to go for a bike ride. Tyler tuned up all the bikes and we were off. My butt is bruised...what are bike seats made of?...they are TORTURE devices. The kids had fun. Kameron hasn't been that big on learning to ride a bike. He got a bike for Christmas and has been avoiding it like the plague! We finally got him on it...training wheels and all...and he has done really well.

Now according to my family this picture is not authentic...I took off the bike helmet...my vanity just wouldn't allow it...the bike shot is bad enough. Thanks Reilly for taking the picture.

I forgot to take of shot of Reilly on her mt. bike and one of Tyler on his bike dragging the bike trailer with Kameron and Ailey in it and all of them leaving me in the dust!! Literally! Tyler likes to set a "brisk" pace. I am more of a "lookey-loo" bike rider.
We've also had a movie marathon, eaten WAY to much parmesan popcorn, made orange julius (I have cracked the recipe), practiced lots of T-ball, jumped on the trampoline, played with remote control cars and even had our first mosquito bite of the season. Who needs to go out of town!!

Jordi...we missed you on our shopping excursion. Glad things are going so well in Kansas City. It was great chatting with you! Kelley...I'll see you on Wednesday...be there or be flabby!! ;) It is Dancing with the Stars tonight!! Oh...and a lot of our cackling at our Olive Garden dinner was about The Amazing Race...and Mirna and Schmirna. I am officially declaring my support for them. They are TOO funny!! When they were in their swimming suits a few weeks past and had that poor man in the taxi and Charla was SITTING on his lap...I almost peed my pants...it was THAT funny!

Kristin! I was in the elevator with your sister at Sacred Heart last week. It was so weird. I glanced at this cute blonde girl and I thought to myself, "Hey, she looks like the pictures of Kristin's sister from the blog", so I glanced at her nametag and it said, "Kelley". Then I thought, no way, too big a coincidence. But now that you say she works at the hospital - it HAD to be her. Kelley, if you're reading this, I was the pregnant woman with two kids gaping at your nametag!

Okay, another thing. How does one manage to go from an "AA" cup to a "C"? After nursing two kids, I went from an "A" to a "AA". What's your secret????? Been standing in front of the microwave? Using herbal supplements?? Making burnt offerings to the boob gods???

Small world isn't it! Hello aliring :0)
I had a great time yesterday-what fun we had- yes Jordi was missed. Don't you worry about the gym- I am on board-
oy vey! Amazing race last night- wow!! 2hour special- of course I had to warm up a slice of pizza RIGHT as they were going to the sausage place- GAG ME!! I had to turn the channel as it became a puke fest- little middgy-killed me- no one needs to see someone stick a utensil down their throat- I can't believe they were not eliminated-Jeez
loved my favorite beauty queens-minus one of their puking scenes- it makes me sick right now thinking about it!

Okay, I have been a bit of a lurker the past few months, but I was laughing so hard at Kelley's comments about TAR I had to sound off. What about 'lil Charla in a full suit of armor? I mean, are you serious?? I couldn't even breathe I was laughing so hard! I wondered what kind of twisted thing from my childhood had brought me to the point where I was getting so much unabashed enjoyment from someone desperately trying to lead a horse around and taking two face plants to the cement. Oh yeah, I grew up in the dell! :) TOO FUNNY! Oh, and how painful is it watching Mirna and her pitiful negotiation skills with the cabbie. "I'm crying here and you are just laughing!" How are they still in this thing?

Alisa-

The boob fairy maybe?? I have NO IDEA...I was shocked!! I have been buying a 34 B for years. Maybe they are a 32 C after I scoop up the little deflated balloons and stuff them into my bra! Wait...maybe the garments added a little something extra!! ;)

That's funny you saw Kelley!! I KNOW she's loving that she was "recognized". Tyler was recognized from my blog by I think Rebecca...his ego loved it!! :)

Ok Na--

You have me laughing until I am crying again...Charla in the suit of armour was freaking hilarious!! I totally forgot about that...and so was Mirna when she had to pick up all the flapping fish (that would've put me out of the game by the way...not a fan of fish)but yet still hilarious. I want them to remain for my own cruel amusement.

I do feel this mean streak can be directly traced to Springdell...is that why I find my self stiffling a snicker when people fall down in front of me...SO SO MEAN! And that is from a FREQUENT FALLER...I should be more empathetic. Maybe we dell kids are a bit more sarcastic and a tad hardened (you and I were DEFINITELY the nice ones :) )but we do have GREAT senses of humor!!

Long Live Mirna and Schmirna!!

My hubby's and my favorite joke these days is shreaking "CHARLA!!!!!!" in our best Mirna-esque voice whenever we need each other. :-)

I've been chuckling just reading these comments!

First of all, as one also on the Dave Ramsey Spring Break...welcome! At least you are managing to do some fun stuff. I just continue to work and then rest from being tired.

they have got to get these teams closer together on TAR. And Mirna has GOT to go. I don't know how anybody could enjoy being around her. Obnoxious! But the suit of armor was hilarious. Do you think they had one her size or did they just leave out the thigh plate?

Sounds like you're having such a fun break. We are home now and I'm hoping to keep the kids entertained for the next few days. I'm looking forward to it.

What about Mirna throwing up? That was hilarious too. The camera angles were so unflattering. I have fallen far that I get so much pleasure out of schmirna mirna.

Ok, I am dying laughing reading some of these comments about the amazing race. I had to call Kelley to hear about the ending because John only taped half for me..........he didn't know it was a 2-hour special. I about died when midgy and her cousin were talking to the cabbie in Poland, those two just have to get eliminated.

Had a great time shopping...please let everyone on your blog know that I have been budgeting for MONTHS for that desperately needed shopping trip!!

Can't wait to see all the fam on sunday for Easter. I am bringing a "Southern Sunshine Lemon Cake"...recipe courtesy of my mother-in-law. Dane and I are going to attempt to dye eggs "organically" with coffee grounds, tumeric and fresh herbs. The eggs are supposed to turn out looking kindof antiquey and muted. We'll see!
XOXOX Stacey

Your post makes me miss my sister who lives in Louisiana and is too far for a road trip.

I love your lookey-loo bike riding style.

I keep missing the Amazing Race this season! It is really bumming me out! Does anyone have DVR and not mind if I park on their couch for a while to catch up?
